#GRAFT Training in Every Season: Why the Weather Shouldn't
Stop Your Progress
BLOG

Summer is here, and with it comes holidays, family adventures, days out, and a break from the usual routine. It’s a season to relax, make memories, and enjoy the longer days.

But for many people, summer also means exercise gets pushed to the bottom of the priority list.

The school holidays arrive, the kids are home, travel plans begin, and suddenly your usual fitness routine disappears.

At Graft Fitness, we want to remind you that staying active during the summer isn’t about chasing calories or maintaining the “perfect body.” It’s about looking after your physical health, protecting your mental wellbeing, and continuing the habits that help you feel your best.

Movement Is One of the Best Things You Can Do for Your Mind

Exercise is about so much more than fitness.

It helps reduce stress, improves mood, increases energy, boosts confidence, and gives you valuable time to reset.

When life becomes busy, movement is often the first thing we cancel.

Ironically, it’s usually the thing we need the most.

Whether it’s a quick bodyweight workout, a walk in the sunshine, or 20 minutes of strength training, moving your body helps you show up as a better version of yourself every single day.

Looking after yourself isn’t selfish.

It’s essential.

As a Mum of Four, I Know Life Gets Busy

As a mum of four, I completely understand how quickly your own needs can end up at the bottom of the list.

There are school holidays to organise, meals to prepare, activities to plan, and countless little jobs that fill every day.

It would be easy to tell myself I don’t have time to exercise.

But I’ve learned something important over the years.

When I make time to look after myself, everyone benefits.

When I train, I have more patience.

I have more energy.

I feel calmer.

I’m able to show up as a better mum, coach, partner, and person.

When my workouts disappear completely, I notice the difference, and so does my family.

Looking after yourself isn’t taking time away from the people you love.

It’s investing in being the best version of yourself for them.

Small Workouts Still Make a Big Difference

Many people believe if they can’t train for an hour, there’s no point starting.

That’s simply not true.

A focused 20 to 30-minute workout can improve your mood, maintain your strength, boost your fitness, and keep your healthy habits alive.

Even one or two sessions each week are enough to help you maintain momentum during the holidays.

Remember, consistency always beats perfection.

Doing something will always be better than doing nothing.

Don’t Start September Back at Square One

One of the biggest mistakes people make is stopping completely over summer and expecting to pick up where they left off.

Fitness doesn’t disappear overnight, but it does decline when we stop challenging our bodies.

Every week away from training can set you back by several weeks in terms of fitness and strength. That’s why many people find September far harder than it needs to be.

Keeping just one or two workouts in your week can make a huge difference.

Instead of rebuilding from the beginning, you’ll simply continue progressing.

Future you will be grateful you kept moving.

We’ve Made It Easy

If you’re wondering how to fit exercise into busy holiday days, we’ve got you covered.

Inside the Graft Fitness App, you’ll find workouts that are designed to fit around real life, whether you have 20 minutes or 30 minutes available.

They’re quick, effective, and easy to follow wherever you are.

If you’re away on holiday, don’t forget to open the app and keep your routine going.

Your future self will thank you.

Join Me for My Free Summer Workout Series

To make staying active even easier, I’m also sharing a FREE 7-Day Summer Workout Series on YouTube.

Each workout is just 10 to 15 minutes, making them perfect for busy holiday schedules.

If you have more time, simply complete two sessions back-to-back to create a full 20 to 30-minute workout.

The best part?

You don’t need a gym.

You don’t need equipment.

You don’t even need a mat.

These are simple bodyweight workouts you can do in your living room, your garden, your hotel room, or wherever your summer takes you.

You’ll also find plenty of free workouts across my Instagram and TikTok if you’re looking for even more ways to stay moving.

This Summer, Focus on Progress, Not Perfection

Summer isn’t about sticking to a perfect routine.

It’s about adapting.

Enjoy the holidays.

Enjoy the BBQs.

Enjoy the ice cream.

Enjoy making memories with your family.

But don’t forget to make time for yourself too.

Even twenty minutes of movement can improve your mood, support your mental health, maintain your strength, and help you head into September feeling strong instead of starting over.
